About Veda 96

Veda 96 is a Brahma Muhurta alarm app for iOS and Android. It helps you wake in the sacred 48-minute window before sunrise — the "time of Brahma" in the Vedic tradition — by setting your alarm automatically based on your location and the local sunrise time.

The app is for anyone who wants to align their wake time with this window: whether you practice meditation, yoga, or simply want a calmer, more focused start to the day. Sunrise changes every day and depends on where you are; Veda 96 uses your location so you don't have to calculate anything.

What is Brahma Muhurta?

In Vedic and Ayurvedic tradition, Brahma Muhurta (Sanskrit for "the time of Brahma") is the period just before sunrise — roughly the last 48 minutes of night. It's considered an especially auspicious time for meditation, study, and spiritual practice because the mind is naturally quieter and the world still. You don't need to follow any tradition to benefit: many people simply find it easier to focus and feel grounded when they wake in this window.

How Veda 96 works

Sunrise time depends on your location and the time of year. Veda 96 uses your device's location to compute the pre-sunrise window for where you are (from about 1 hour 36 minutes before sunrise until sunrise) and sets your alarm inside it. You can choose to wake at the start of the window or a few minutes before — 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, or 60 minutes before sunrise — and the app keeps the time accurate as the seasons change. A gentle bell sound helps you start the day without a jarring alarm.

Sign in with Apple or Google to save your settings and your streak across devices. Location is used only to compute your daily pre-sunrise window; we don't track or sell your data.

You don't need to know anything about Brahma Muhurta or Vedic tradition; you just set the alarm and wake in that window.
